The Newest Member of the Sturgill Family
Meet Dr. Emma Anderson
Dr. Emma Pendola Anderson is our newest associate at Sturgill Orthodontics! We’re thrilled to have Dr. Anderson bring her expertise and passion for orthodontic care to our patients.
Raised in Kingsport, she’s excited to return to her roots and serve the East Tennessee community she calls home.
College & Pre-Orthodontic Experience
While attending East Tennessee State University, Dr. Anderson was more than just a student—she was a leader and volunteer. She pursued a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a concentration in Human Health.
Dr. Anderson tutored peers, volunteered with The Well student ministry, and provided care at remote area medical clinics. She also took on leadership roles within the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
After graduation, she gained experience at a learning center for children and young adults, focusing on cognitive and academic skill development.
Dental & Orthodontic Education
After marrying Wesley Anderson in 2017, Dr. Anderson’s journey led her to Indianapolis, where Wes began his medical residency.
Confident in her calling to dentistry, she enrolled at Indiana University School of Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and graduating at the top of her class.
Driven by her passion for creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Anderson then completed her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics at Indiana University’s Graduate Orthodontics Program, where she gained the expertise and skills to become an orthodontist.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Anderson's life is full of joy and adventure outside the office. 2024 has been a whirlwind year, with the arrival of her daughter, Vivian, in April, the completion of her orthodontic residency, and her husband's training in interventional cardiology.
Now, back in East Tennessee, the Anderson family loves every moment, from Sunday dinners to rediscovering local favorites.
Dr. Anderson enjoys working out at Orange Theory in her free time, exploring new restaurants, antique shopping, and taking family walks with their dogs.
